Chinese Evergreens "aglaonema" is another gorgeous house plant for beginners.
If you're still getting the hang of how much water is the right amount, these plants are tolerant of overwatering (though they should still have proper drainage to avoid root rot). Allow the soil to dry in between waterings to avoid damage to the plant.
