The first plant we're going to be talking about here is called Lucky Bamboo. The name is misleading because while it looks like bamboo... it's not. It is actually a "Dracaena Sanderiana" and is native to Central Africa!

You can buy it bulk especially if you live near farmer's markets. Often times you will see them in small grouping at stores like CVS or Lowe's and Home Depot. In these cases, they will be more expensive because you're mostly paying for the fancy pot or holder they come in. Do yourself a favor, buy in bulk if you can then run to the Dollar Store or Daiso or Amazon and grab some cute pots!
If you don't live near a place where you can get it in person, online is a great option too!
You can also propagate these plants once their leafy stocks get long! However, they do not grow as fast as bamboo so you won't have to do this often! I bought my first plant over 2 years ago (back left) and it is not anywhere close to being ready!
I wanted to share this plant with you first because I have several little pots of them all throughout the house and they are amazing. They are perfect for brightening up a desk or office space. They like indirect light (I mistakenly put mine on the window sill for the few days and it began to turn yellow!) and just enough water to cover their roots. That's right! You do not need to water them every day. If you're going on vacation give them a little splash and they will be happy and healthy when you come home!
