I love posting about different house plants that are low maintenance and will make your home even more beautiful! Each post will be compiled here for so you can have all the info in one place!

Lucky Bamboo
The first plant we're going to be talking about here is called Lucky Bamboo. The name is misleading because while it looks like bamboo... it's not. It is actually a "Dracaena Sanderiana" and is native to Central Africa!

You can buy it bulk especially if you live near farmer's markets. Often times you will see them in small grouping at stores like CVS or Lowe's and Home Depot. In these cases, they will be more expensive because you're mostly paying for the fancy pot or holder they come in. Do yourself a favor, buy in bulk if you can then run to the Dollar Store or Daiso and grab some cute pots!

You can also propagate these plants once their leafy stocks get long! However, they do not grow as fast as bamboo so you won't have to do this often! I bought my first plant over 2 years ago (back left) and it is not anywhere close to being ready!
I wanted to share this plant with you first because I have several little pots of them all throughout the house and they are amazing. They are perfect for brightening up a desk or office space. They like indirect light (I mistakenly put mine on the window sill for the few days and it began to turn yellow!) and just enough water to cover their roots. That's right! You do not need to water them every day. If you're going on vacation give them a little splash and they will be happy and healthy when you come home!
Another plant that is super easy and beautiful is called a Snake Plant. Fun fact, it is in the same family as the Lucky Bamboo plant! It is a "Dracaena Trifasciata".

They come in several varieties so you really have a lot of options when it comes to deciding which to welcome into your space! They add a bold and brilliant splash of green to any home. |
Pothos Plant
Known scientifically as "Epipremnum aureum" it is also called Devil's Ivy, Pothos Plant, along with a few others. The vines can get seriously long! I love the earthy look it can give to any home as it expands and drapes itself around the room.

Did someone say PROPAGATE??
I love love loooove plants that you can propagate because you buy one or two and you're set for life! You can give clippings to friends and family. You can start a new plant and give it as cute little gifts to co-workers and neighbors. The possibilities are endless and so wholesome!

These plants are very hardy and will survive both indoors and out! If you have your plant outside you want to give them partial to full shade and if indoors you want bright indirect light. These plants thrive in kitchens, office spaces, and porches! Honestly, they will thrive pretty much anywhere which is why they made the list!

Chinese Evergreen
Chinese Evergreens "aglaonema" is another gorgeous house plant for beginners.
If you're still getting the hang of how much water is the right amount, these plants are tolerant of overwatering (though they should still have proper drainage to avoid root rot). Allow the soil to dry in between waterings to avoid damage to the plant.
